James
D. Jensen, the owner of Jensen Homes Northwest Company (JHNW), has been
involved with building his entire professional career. Jensen worked in
the commercial building trades for 20 years, then established Jensen Homes
Northwest Company, building homes in the south Snohomish and King County
areas.
Most of the homes
built by JHNW contain extensive, custom millwork. Jensen especially enjoys
this feature because old school craftsmanship is involved in accomplishing
it correctly. We never cut any of the proverbial corners on our millwork.
Jensen believes it
is more important to execute a job precisely rather than quickly. That
is a quality he looks for in the company's subcontractors and vendors
as well. JHNW attempts to create a working relationship with subs and
vendors that lasts for years. We retain those companies that provide us
with high-quality performance and support. Over time they learn what we
expect and a high level of mutual trust develops. We all become part of
a team.
Other important aspects
of the JHNW building process include the involvement of several key members.
Kristen Bergesen left one of the Eastside's successful job placement agencies
to work with Jensen Homes Northwest in 1998. As the office manager, Kristen
oversees the office operations and acts as coordinator with the company's
custom clients.
Another of Jensen
Homes Northwest Company's fortes is selecting future building sites. Jim
has the ingenuity to envision what can develop from a piece of raw land.
The ability to search and find properties for clients has become more
important than ever with the growing scarcity of land to build on. JHNW
has developed and built acreage estates in the Woodinville, Redmond and
Snohomish areas. Large land development is another variation of services
for our clients.
Jensen Homes Northwest
Company maintains affiliations with several of the areas finest architects
to meet the needs of our clients. With a custom home, the owner often
wants certain client specific features. We thrive on new techniques and
skills involved in building different and unique architectural designs.
For our clients building
a custom home is a little like becoming a parent. The decision represents
a long-term commitment, a lot of money, and the results require care and
attention from day one. Planning, researching, waiting, asking advice
and hearing experiences from family and friends, watching, millions of
phone calls, more waiting, hundreds of decisions and then finally it is
finished. We understand this process and appreciate the apprehension,
fears, anxieties, gratification, satisfaction and the ultimate reward
of having a custom home built. We strive to make the process as smooth
and as easy as possible for our clients.
As one of our clients
said, "Jim, build my home as if it were your own." Jensen Homes
Northwest Company endeavors to do just that with each home we build.
